A – We offer oral, nitrous and IV sedation. Your dentist can help you determine which form of sedation will best fit your needs for your upcoming appointments.
A – Oral sedation is given by simply taking a pill at the beginning your appointment. The pill will take effect within minutes and last throughout your appointment. You will not be bothered by surrounding sounds or smells; however, you will be able to respond to your dentist if necessary. Oral sedation can take some time to fully wear away, so an accompanying driver is necessary for an appointment using this type of sedation.
A – Also known as laughing gas, nitrous sedation is one of the most common forms of sedation. This type of sedation is administered through a mask and takes effect within minutes. Nitrous sedation begins to wear away as soon as the mask is removed, allowing you to resume your regular daily activities following your dental visit.
A – IV sedation is normally used in more lengthy visits and is administered through an IV. The level of sedation can be adjusted throughout your appointment with this type of sedation. You may fall asleep or remember little to nothing from your appointment.
A – Visiting your dentist for a sedation consultation will answer any questions you have. Determining which type will suit your needs and scheduling upcoming visits can all be done at this appointment. Your dentist will help you choose the best sedation to help you feel completely at ease throughout any upcoming visits.
