Sedation Dentistry

If you deal with dental fears, you are not alone! Many patients avoid their dentist as much as possible because of the anxiety that comes along with every visit. Past experiences or fears of the unknown make many patients uncomfortable in the dental chair. But you don’t have to live this way! You can get the smile you’ve always wanted, while feeling comfortable and completely relaxed! This is possible through sedation dentistry. Face any dental appointment with the help of sedation dentistry and give your smile the care that it needs. We offer 2 types of sedation – nitrous oxide and IV sedation.

All sedation consultations and services are provided in our Lititz location, Mor Smiles. Please call (717) 340-0478 to learn more and to schedule your complimentary consultation.

Nitrous Oxide

Often referred to as laughing gas, nitrous oxide is one of the sedation options we offer. This form of sedation is administered through a nasal mask and you will begin to feel relaxed and at ease within minutes of wearing the mask. The level of sedation can be adjusted throughout your appointment as needed. When you remove the mask, the effects wear off just as quickly as they set in, allowing you to resume your daily activities following your visit.

IV Sedation

IV sedation is administered through an intravenous line. This form of sedation goes to work as soon as the IV begins to run. With IV sedation you will be in a state of twilight sleep and will most likely remember little to nothing about your visit. However, your dentist will be able to communicate with you and give you instructions if needed. A driver will also need to accompany you with this type of sedation, and you should be able to resume your daily activities the following day.
